Abby Draper

Abby Draper joined the Maroon PR team in June of 2009 as an Associate Account Executive. Since arriving, she has brought an energy and passion for public relations. She is an expert in social media marketing, and has utilized her expertise for many of Maroon PR’s clients.

Because of her vast knowledge, Abby was promoted to Manager of Social Media in February 2010. In her current role, Abby handles all aspects of social media marketing for Maroon PR’s clients, which include utilizing platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, blogging, and more. Since joining Maroon PR, Abby has re-vamped the social media marketing for Ripken Baseball, PBATS, and Maroon PR to name a few.

Apart from being a social media guru, Abby has experience in event planning; securing high-profile placements on CNBC, The Baltimore Sun, Associated Press (AP) as well as numerous top daily newspapers, local affiliate TV news broadcasts and radio shows; working with media professionals, and more. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2007 with a bachelors’ degree in Communication, focusing on Public Relations. In her last year at Kentucky, Abby worked as a graduate assistant where she conducted online research for an evaluative communications study to be published in 2009.

Upon graduation, Abby moved to Baltimore where she gained experience in media relations including release writing, media sourcing, pitching, follow-up, tracking and reporting. She utilizes social media in her personal and professional life, maintaining several social networking sites, including Facebook Twitter, Flickr, and LinkedIn. She is also a skilled writer, has participated in numerous blog forums and is an avid “digger”.

While Abby will always “bleed Kentucky blue,” she currently resides in Baltimore, Md.
