Chris has been with Maroon PR since the firm’s inception in April 2006. Before joining the firm he began his public relations career at Warschawski Public Relations (WPR) in Baltimore, Md. where he assisted with public relations and marketing initiatives for nationally known brands such as Under Armour, DEWALT Industrial Tools, Ripken Baseball and USA Swimming.
In the summer of 2005 Chris worked with John Maroon and the Ripken Baseball team to generate publicity for the Cal Ripken World Series. His work helped earn WPR two national Bulldog Reporter Awards which recognize excellence in media relations.
Since joining Maroon PR Chris has managed several accounts and worked on behalf of clients in the sports, nonprofit, health & fitness and entertainment sectors. Clients Chris has led campaigns for include; Sagamore Farm (Under Armour CEO, Kevin Plank’s thoroughbred training farm), Fr. Leo Patalinghug/Grace Before Meals, The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, Baltimore Orioles outfielder, Nick Markakis and The Right Side Foundation, The Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS), USA Football, the Baltimore Ravens and the United Football League (UFL).
Chris has managed public relations and marketing initiatives for professional events, national campaigns and high-profile announcements including the inaugural IFAF (International Federation of American Football) Junior World Championship with USA Football; the PBATS’ “PLAY” (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) Campaign, garnering media attention nationally, and in 30 Major League Baseball markets; The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation’s annual Aspire Gala, one of Maryland’s largest single-day fundraising events and Badges for Baseball, The Foundation’s signature program now in 11 states and partners with the U.S. Department of Justice; the launch of Ripken Baseball’s partnership with Under Armour; the Maryland-Navy rivalry football game at M&T Bank Stadium, working with the Baltimore Ravens, the Naval Academy and University of Maryland’s marketing teams to generate excitement prior to the game.
Media relations efforts Chris has conducted have led to coverage for Maroon PR’s clients within top media outlets including CBS News Sunday Morning, Fox & Friends, The Wall Street Journal, ESPN.com, Yahoo! Sports, Associated Press (AP) as well as numerous top daily newspapers, local affiliate TV news broadcasts and radio shows throughout the United States.
Aside from media relations, Chris assists clients with various initiatives such as product launches, press conference management, developing/managing grassroots marketing campaigns, brand building, web/collateral development, social media and strategic partnership building.
Chris has also booked and managed interviews for high-profile spokespeople and facilitated media tours at the 2007 NCAA Basketball Final Four in Atlanta, Ga., ESPN The Weekend at Disney World and Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, Texas. Spokespeople he has worked with include NCAA Hall of Fame basketball coach, Gene Keady, NBA Hall of Fame basketball coach, Chuck Daly, National Baseball Hall of Famer, Brooks Robinson, four-time NFL All-Star Boomer Esiason and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, Al Unser, Jr.
Chris graduated from Towson University with a degree in Mass Communications. While at Towson, Chris was a midfielder on the men’s varsity lacrosse team who were Division I Championship Semifinalists in 2001.
Originally from Montrose, New York, Chris currently resides in Baltimore, Md.
