Mitchell Schmale brings more than 15 years of public relations, media relations and marketing experience to Maroon Public Relations. During his career, Mitchell has worked with a diverse array of clients including Fortune 500 companies, national telecommunications leaders, national sporting events, trade associations, restaurants, non-profit organizations and health care providers, just to name a few.
Mitchell’s past clients include Comcast Corporation, Constellation Energy, Comcast SportsNet, The Constellation Energy Classic, AT&T, The Cable Telecommunications Association of MD, DE & DC, The Maryland Athletic Club, The Baltimore Examiner, WMAR TV and many others.
For ten years, Mitchell served as the media spokesperson for Comcast in local, regional and national print, radio and television stories. He oversaw the national media relations surrounding the opening of the Comcast Center, the unveiling of Comcast’s new brand and the introduction of Comcast and its services into numerous new markets around the country including Washington, D.C. Mitchell also served as the Media Director for the Constellation Energy Classic, the PGA TOUR Champions Tour event in Baltimore, from 2003 through 2006.

Prior to joining Maroon PR, Mitchell served eleven years at Nevins & Associates, a public relations and marketing agency, most recently as senior vice president. In addition to providing clients with numerous public relations services, he also implemented various community and sports marketing sponsorships for clients and other partners including the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Blast, as well as area colleges.
Additionally, Mitchell has experience supervising numerous creative client projects at Kohn Creative, a marketing and design agency. Mitchell began his career in the broadcast news industry as writer and producer at CNN Headline News in Atlanta, Georgia. He also served as a news producer at WMAR TV, the ABC affiliate in Baltimore.
Mitchell supports the community in which he lives and works through his involvement with a number of non-profit organizations. He is a board member of the Independent College Fund of Maryland (The I-Fund) which raises scholarship monies for students at Maryland’s independent liberal arts colleges. Mitchell is also a board member of the Sports Boosters of Maryland.
A graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, Mitchell lives in Carroll County with his wife and two children.
