Pete DeLuca

Pete DeLuca joined Maroon PR in June of 2010. As an Associate Account Executive, he aids in the formation and implementation of public relations plans for clients. He is also responsible for the management of client accounts, which includes writing press releases, media placements, developing web content, and event planning.

DeLuca graduated from Ithaca College in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Information & Communications. In May of 2010, he earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Wagner College.

During his time as an undergrad, he completed two internships with the New England Patriots and New England Revolution. Following his graduation in 2007, DeLuca accepted a position as Sponsorship Coordinator with the CONCACAF Gold Cup, an annual soccer tournament consisting of teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. From there, DeLuca held media relations positions in the athletic departments at Stonehill College (NCAA Division II; Northeast-10 Conference) and Elmira College (NCAA Division III; Empire-8 Conference).

For the past two years, he held a dual position as Media Relations and Marketing Assistant at Wagner College (NCAA Division I; Northeast Conference). At Wagner, DeLuca was responsible for all media relations activities for seven of the College’s 18 programs. As a Marketing Assistant, he pioneered the department’s social media efforts, developing and maintaining a Twitter feed and YouTube channel. He also took part in game day promotions and served as the department’s sole graphic designer – producing brochures, flyers, newsletters, splash pages, and email advertisements.

Since entering media relations, DeLuca has contributed to local newspapers, such as the Boston Globe, Brockton Enterprise, Elmira Star Gazette, Staten Island Advance, as well as nationally circulated publications, like Sports Illustrated and ESPN the Magazine.

Born in Milford, Mass., Pete currently resides in Baltimore, Md.
