USA Football

America’s Favorite Sport

USA Football is the national governing body on youth and amateur levels for America’s favorite sport. USA Football members – coaches, game officials and league commissioners – reside in all 50 states. The independent non-profit hosts 100 football training events per year which offer education for coaches and game officials, skill development for players and resources for youth league administrators. USA Football, based near Washington, D.C., oversees and manages U.S. national teams and is the United States’ delegate to IFAF.

In the summer of 2009, USA Football hosted the first-ever Junior World Championship (JWC). The JWC was an eight-team international tournament that took place in Canton Ohio's Fawcett Stadium, home of the NFL Hall of Fame. Team USA was comprised of 45 of the top graduating seniors in the country, and they faced players from countries like France, Sweden, Japan and others. Over 40,000 fans saw Team USA defeat Canada 41-3 in the Championship Gold Medal game.

USA Football, chaired by former NFL team executive Carl Peterson, was endowed by the NFL and NFL Players Association in 2002. For more, visit usafootball.com.

The NFL's "Official Youth Football Development Partner"

USA Football is the “Official Youth Football Development Partner” of the NFL, the NFL Players Association and all 32 NFL teams. The USA Football relationship marks the first time in the NFL’s 89-year history that it has named an official youth football development partner.

To highlight the partnership, the NFL, NFLPA and all NFL teams recognized August 2009 as “USA Football Month,” which included USA Football public service announcments during NFL preseason games; more than 100,000 NFL team-donated preseason game tickets for youth football players; “USA Football” field stencils and end zone banners during the 2009 preseason; and much more.
